  4. Fragments
    "Hot, isn't?"




Grammar Notes
  1. There are eight parts of speech in English: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions, prepositions and interjections.

  2. It is important to identify and recognize the parts of speech so that you can understand the grammar explanations.

  3. A compound sentence is made up of two simple sentence e.g. Mike is sick and he won't go to work.

  4. A complex sentence is made up of a simple sentence and one or more dependent or subordinate clauses. e.g. While you were in the bank, there was a robbery outside the bank.

  5. Fragments are incomplete sentences e.g. Hot, isn't? meaning "It's hot, isn't it?"
